1. Scope

This Cookie Notice explains how Ruzaani uses cookies and similar browser technologies on ruzaani.com and its related self-service assessment functions.

It should be read together with the Privacy Notice, which explains more broadly how Ruzaani processes personal data, the purposes for which information is used, applicable retention periods, and the rights available to individuals.

Ruzaani is a trade name operated by Fernando Alberto Ocampo Romay, with domicile at Hidalgo 914, Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz 96400, Mexico. Questions concerning cookies, tracking technologies, or privacy preferences may be addressed to [email protected].

2. Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small piece of information stored by a browser and returned to a website when subsequent requests are made. Cookies may be used to maintain a session, remember a preference, protect a service from unauthorized use, measure website activity, or support advertising and attribution functions.

Ruzaani also uses browser storage where appropriate. Browser storage differs technically from cookies because information is retained by the browser rather than automatically transmitted with every request, but it may serve related purposes. This Notice therefore covers both cookies and similar browser-storage technologies.

Ruzaani distinguishes between technologies required to provide functionality requested by the visitor and optional technologies used for analytics or advertising measurement.

3. Strictly necessary technologies

Strictly necessary technologies are used only where required to operate the website, maintain requested functionality, preserve security, or remember the visitor's privacy choices. These technologies are not used for advertising.

The self-service assessment system uses a session cookie identified as rz_asmt. This cookie contains a random session identifier used to associate a browser with the relevant assessment or authenticated assessment session. It does not contain assessment answers, report content, an email address, or other substantive assessment information.

The rz_asmt cookie is configured as a secure, HTTP-only cookie with a SameSite policy intended to reduce cross-site misuse. Its path is restricted to the assessment so that it is not transmitted with ordinary public website pages. Its maximum browser lifetime is seven days, although the underlying unsaved assessment data is deleted after twenty-four hours of inactivity and cannot be recovered merely because an older browser cookie remains present.

When a user authenticates through passwordless email sign-in, the corresponding session is rotated so that the previous anonymous session identifier is not reused as the authenticated session.

Ruzaani also uses a preference cookie identified as rz_consent to remember the visitor's privacy and optional-tracking choices. This cookie contains only the information necessary to represent those choices and the applicable preference version. It does not contain assessment responses, account information, or report content. It may remain in the browser for up to twelve months so that the visitor is not repeatedly asked to make the same choices.

Strictly necessary technologies may operate without optional analytics or advertising technologies being enabled because disabling them would otherwise prevent or materially impair functionality expressly requested by the visitor.

4. Temporary browser storage

During a self-service assessment, Ruzaani may temporarily place unsent changes in the browser's session storage when a connection or service interruption prevents an immediate server save.

This temporary storage exists to reduce the risk that answers entered by the respondent are lost during a transient failure. It is not used for advertising, audience measurement, or behavioral profiling.

Information held in this storage is intended to remain within the relevant browser session and is removed after the corresponding information has been successfully saved by Ruzaani, the assessment has been submitted or deleted, the user signs out, or the browser session otherwise ends.

The browser does not automatically transmit session-storage content to third parties.

5. First-party measurement

Ruzaani operates its own first-party event system to understand the performance and use of the website and self-service assessment experience.

This measurement is designed around product and navigation events rather than the substantive content supplied by respondents. Assessment answers, assessment reports, email addresses, client or prospect materials, contact-form narratives, and sensitive free text are excluded from ordinary first-party analytics.

Where a random browser or session reference remains associated with an event, that information is treated as pseudonymous. First-party event information may be retained for up to twelve months, after which information retained for longer-term statistical purposes is aggregated or otherwise irreversibly disassociated.

The substantive answers supplied through self-service assessments are processed separately and may be used by Ruzaani for internal statistical or research purposes under the conditions described in the Privacy Notice. They are not transmitted to external analytics or advertising platforms.

6. Google Analytics

Ruzaani may use Google Analytics to understand general website usage, including how visitors reach and interact with public pages.

Google Analytics is treated as an optional analytics technology. It is activated only after the visitor enables the corresponding optional analytics or advertising category through Ruzaani's privacy-preference mechanism.

Ruzaani does not intentionally send assessment answers, report content, email addresses, account identifiers, contact-form narratives, client information, prospect communications, or other substantive assessment or consulting information to Google Analytics.

Information processed by Google through this technology may nevertheless include browser, device, network, page-interaction, and related technical information according to Google's own service operation and applicable configuration.

7. LinkedIn Insight Tag

Ruzaani may use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure the effectiveness of activity associated with LinkedIn, understand visits originating from or related to LinkedIn campaigns or content, and support permitted audience and attribution functions.

The LinkedIn Insight Tag is an optional advertising and measurement technology and is not required to use Ruzaani's website or assessments.

Ruzaani does not intentionally transmit assessment responses, assessment reports, email addresses, account identifiers, client materials, prospect communications, or contact-form narratives through the LinkedIn Insight Tag.

The tag is activated only after the visitor enables the corresponding optional analytics or advertising category through Ruzaani's privacy-preference mechanism.

8. Meta Pixel

Ruzaani may use the Meta Pixel to measure website activity related to Meta platforms, evaluate campaign or content performance, and support permitted advertising attribution or audience functions.

The Meta Pixel is optional and is not required for any assessment, report, account, contact, or consulting functionality.

Ruzaani does not intentionally transmit assessment answers, report content, email addresses, account identifiers, client or prospect information, or contact-form narratives through the Meta Pixel.

The Meta Pixel is activated only after the visitor enables the corresponding optional analytics or advertising category through Ruzaani's privacy-preference mechanism.

9. Google Ads

Google Ads conversion or advertising tracking is not used by Ruzaani as of the effective date of this Notice.

If Ruzaani later introduces Google Ads or another materially different advertising technology, the Cookie Notice and the applicable privacy-preference mechanism will be updated before that technology is used where required.

10. Relationship between cookies and assessment information

Cookies and advertising technologies are not used to expose the substantive contents of a self-service assessment to Google, LinkedIn, Meta, or another advertising or analytics provider.

An assessment may therefore generate ordinary navigation or product events without its answers, report narrative, or other respondent-provided content becoming part of those external systems.

Where Ruzaani analyzes structured assessment responses for its own statistical or research purposes, that processing occurs within Ruzaani's controlled systems. Direct identifiers and operational session identifiers are removed before information is used in a research dataset, and respondent-level information is not provided to third parties for their own advertising, profiling, marketing, or commercial research.

11. Privacy preferences

Visitors may control optional analytics and advertising technologies through the privacy-preference mechanism provided on the website.

A visitor's choices are remembered through the rz_consent preference cookie. A visitor may subsequently change those choices through the same mechanism.

Changing an optional analytics or advertising preference does not prevent access to ordinary website content, completion of a self-service assessment, receipt of its immediate result, downloading a report, using passwordless sign-in, requesting assessment reminders, or contacting Ruzaani.

Withdrawing or refusing an optional tracking preference does not remove cookies or storage that are strictly necessary to provide functionality expressly requested by the visitor.

Where applicable law requires Ruzaani to recognize an additional legally effective browser or device-based privacy signal, Ruzaani will process that signal in accordance with the applicable legal requirement.

12. Third-party technologies

Optional analytics and advertising technologies are operated in part by their respective providers. Those providers may process technical and interaction information according to their own systems, contractual roles, and privacy practices.

Ruzaani determines which technologies are enabled on its website and restricts the information intentionally supplied through its implementation. Ruzaani does not authorize third-party analytics or advertising providers to receive assessment answers, client materials, prospect communications, or report content through those technologies.

The Privacy Notice contains additional information concerning service providers, international processing, and disclosures of personal data.

13. Retention

The duration of a cookie does not necessarily determine the retention period of the information associated with the underlying service.

The rz_asmt cookie may remain in the browser for up to seven days, while an unsaved assessment record expires after twenty-four hours of inactivity. A cookie remaining after the underlying anonymous assessment has expired does not recreate or restore that assessment.

The rz_consent preference cookie may remain for up to twelve months, after which the visitor may be asked to state current preferences again.

Temporary assessment information stored in session storage is retained only for the relevant browser session and is designed to be removed earlier once its temporary purpose has ended.

Data generated through analytics or other processing is retained according to the periods and conditions stated in the Privacy Notice and, where applicable, the policies governing the relevant external provider.

14. Browser controls

Most browsers allow users to inspect, block, or delete cookies and browser storage through their own settings.

Blocking all cookies indiscriminately may interfere with strictly necessary functions, including maintaining an assessment session, remembering privacy preferences, or using authenticated assessment functions. Optional analytics and advertising technologies should instead be controlled through Ruzaani's privacy-preference mechanism where available.

Deletion of a browser cookie does not necessarily delete information already retained by Ruzaani for a separate lawful purpose. Requests concerning retained personal data are governed by the Privacy Notice and may be submitted to [email protected].

15. Changes to this Cookie Notice

The version published at ruzaani.com/cookies/ is the current Cookie Notice and becomes effective on the date shown at the beginning of the document.

Ruzaani may revise this Notice when its use of cookies, browser storage, analytics technologies, advertising technologies, or applicable legal requirements changes. Ordinary revisions are communicated through publication of the updated Notice with a new effective date.

Where a new technology requires consent or another affirmative choice before use, publication of an updated Notice does not replace that requirement. The corresponding technology will be subject to the applicable privacy-preference mechanism before activation.

16. Language

Ruzaani may publish this Cookie Notice in more than one language. Where legally permissible, the English version governs interpretation in the event of an inconsistency between published language versions, without limiting mandatory rights arising under applicable law.
